The Basel Sinfonietta is a symphony orchestra specialised in contemporary music of all kinds and therefore unique in the classical music scene. Principal conductor of the Basel Sinfonietta is Titus Engel. Supported by the claim of performing “music attuned to our time”, the Basel Sinfonietta has been transcending classical concert conventions since its foundation in 1980 and is eager to explore other genres and cultures in its programmes.
