Basel Sinfonietta
In the music of Catalan composer, Roberto Gerhard, problems are confronted in a very personal way. His Symphony No. 1 paved the way from neoclassicism to musical freedom.
With his orchestral work InFALL, inspired by gravity, the Spanish composer Hèctor Parra draws a cosmological vision of human existence that crystallises in an awareness of fate that inevitably leads to death.
The impact and its resonance form the starting point for the new work for orchestra titled Waves by young Swiss composer, Kevin Juillerat that lets timbres, contrasts and movements interact.
