click & faun — a journey into networked sound
With the electronics trio Inside the Baxter Building, ensemble proton bern ventures into the realm of electronically processed music. New music and free improvisation meet electronic real-time music - the boundaries between musician and machine become fluid. The electronic processing of the acoustic sounds of the trio will be extended to incorporate ensemble proton bern thus multiplying the possibilities of networking between musicians exponentially. An accomplished expert in the field of electronic dance music as well as in the field of experimental electronics, ensemble proton bern was able to engage sound artist Till Hillbrecht. In addition to the color palettes of electronically networked woodwind, brass and string instruments, other sound generators will be employed: synthesiser (Moog Sub 37) and friction-driven instruments (stone, glass, wood, hair, steel, sandpaper, polystyrene) and a kinetic sound installation underpin the new musical structures. The foundation for the improvisational concepts was lain by Samuel Fried, Fabian Gutscher, Richard Haynes and Samuel Würgler, and together with the electronic sounds of Till Hilbrecht alias Trillion Tapeman, a fascinating theatre of sounds will be created.
The concert at Gessnerallee is supported by the Backslash Festival.
